Volunteer Walk

Volunteer Centre Lincoln took the opportunity of Volunteers' Week to organise a health walk,  giving the public a taste of the positive effect of  volunteering. Our intention was to raise the profile of volunteering and to highlight some of the Volunteer opportunities available in the City. Along our route we visited different Volunteer organisations, the Lincolnshire Echo and the Police Station. The weather was excellent,  we  were a little bit exhausted, but looking forward to our lunch in the HUB (Volunteer Centre) - which we really deserved!

We began our walk at the HUB, all armed with our Volunteer Centre bags to collect info along the way. Our first stop was AGE Concern,  then the Police Station and we headed along to Relate, Cancer Research Shop and the Nomad Trust.

We visited the YMCA gym and LCDP, where we got a little tour through their lovely garden at the back available for use by community groups. We had a stop in the University, at the Lincolnshire Echo and at Lincoln Mind. Our walk took us to Lincoln College and Victim Support. Finally we saw Positive Health before we ended up at the HUB for some well deserved lunch!

Pub Quiz Night

We invited different organisations to get a team together for the Volunteer Pub Quiz extravaganza. We had a really good time with sausages, Chips  and a bar. The evening was very enjoyable and well done to all lucky cash prize winners!

The winner of the 1st Prize of £250 was Lincoln Mind.

The winner of the 2nd Prize of £150 was Lincoln Cathedral Library.

The winner of the 3rd Prize of £100 was Lincoln Toy Library.
